Soirée Provençale, the Alliance's third annual gala, drew close to 200 attendees to the Multnomah Athletic Club on April 23. In the lead-up to the event, bidders from 10 states competed in the separate online auction. Merci to all the donors and bidders who helped make this fundraiser a success. Awards Event: Portlanders will fill a couple of tables at the Friday, May 20, French-American Business Awards event in Seattle. Among 36 award nominees are Portlanders Dominique Geulin (for Leadership) and Linda Witt (for Contribution to the Community). A handful of tickets remain. Visit the event website for details. Last Chance for Delta One (Business Class) to France: The nonprofit FACC has a few remaining $100 raffle tickets for the drawing on May 20 for t wo round-trip Seattle-Europe tickets in Delta One (Business Class). French independent singer songwriter Eric John Kaiser is running a Kickstarter campaign to raise money to go to Québec and record a new album. Donors will receive various prizes (for a $700 donation the  prize is a concert at your home, for $10 the prize is a download of three songs, etc.) Visit online for more info; note that these donations are not tax deductible. The Wine Tasting and Class set for May 14 with Maxine Borcherding is sold out. Worldwide celebration of music on June 21: Make Music is a free celebration of music around the world on June 21. Launched in 1982 in France as the Fête de la Musique, it is now held on the same day in more than 700 cities in 120 countries. Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music is open to anyone who wants to take part; it is free and open to the public. CERCLE FRANCAIS: La prochaine présentation du cercle français aura lieu le jeudi 26 mai, de 12h à 13h30, dans la galerie de l'église First Congregational Church (1126 SW Park Avenue). Le présentateur du jeudi 26 mai sera : Rodrigue Deschène co-fondateur du mouvement : Health Education and Services in Oregon. "Le Co-fondateur d'une société à but non-lucratif de Portland nous parlera de la mission de son mouvement concernant les ondes electro-magnétiques et le téléphone sans fil". La présentation sera suivie d'une vente de livres français dont le profit ira au Cercle Français.
