Next Open House Features Blake Zoglman
The Summer Open House will be on Thursday, June 16, 6:15-8pm, and will feature special guest, Blake Zoglman from The Oilerie in Progress Ridge. The Oilerie offers the freshest Extra Virgin Olive Oils, Balsamic Vinegars and Specialty oils, including 30 varieties of olive oils and balsamic vinegars that are procured directly from producers. Come chat with Blake and learn more about these quality products, while shopping as well for your next class!
    The Alliance's current spring term runs through June 6, 2016. Enrollment is now open for the summer term which runs June 20 to August 29. Registration is also in progress for the week-long and weekend Immersion programs; click here for that info. Enrollments prior to or at the Open House will qualify for 10% off the class fees, so act soon!  
Author Cara Black Comes to Portland in June
Bestselling author Cara Black will present her latest book on June 22 at 7pm at Powell's in Cedar Mill Crossing (Beaverton). The author's popular Aimée Leduc series, set in Paris, has been translated into 7 languages for a total of 400,000 books in print. Her love of all things French has led to many trips to Paris; on each visit she entrenches herself in a different part of the city, learning its secret history. At Powell's she will be presenting the 16th book in the Leduc series, Murder on the Quai (for release on June 14). The event is free and does not require pre-registration.

Last Chance for Delta Luxury, Kickstarter and More

  Soirée Provençale, the Alliance's third annual gala, drew close to 200 attendees to the Multnomah Athletic Club on April 23. In the lead-up to the event, bidders from 10 states competed in the separate online auction. Merci to all the donors and bidders who helped make this fundraiser a success.   Awards Event: Portlanders will fill a couple of tables at the Friday, May 20, French-American Business Awards event in Seattle. Among 36 award nominees are Portlanders Dominique Geulin (for Leadership) and Linda Witt (for Contribution to the Community). A handful of tickets remain. Visit the event website for details.

  French independent singer songwriter Eric John Kaiser is running a Kickstarter campaign to raise money to go to Québec and record a new album.   Worldwide celebration of music on June 21: Make Music is a free celebration of music around the world on June 21. Launched in 1982 in France as the Fête de la Musique, it is now held on the same day in more than 700 cities in 120 countries. Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music is open to anyone who wants to take part; it is free and open to the public.
