Immersion Programs: New Dates, Openings

The Alliance has openings in its August immersion programs that include 5-day (Aug. 10-14) and weekend options (Aug. 22-23). Now in its 8th year, the program includes targeted exercises on problem areas for Anglophones, with emphasis on idiomatic expression necessary for spontaneous dialogue in real-life situations. Students' comments from the June immersion sessions included: 1) "It was a great week with a nice group of students, wonderful teachers, charming assistants and good food. C'est chouette!" and 2) "C'était vraiment excellent. Tous les profs étaient superbes et les exercices aussi. J'ai aimé aussi le petit voyage au musée d'art et tous les repas." Click here for full details and enroll by calling the office at 503 223.8388.

Lucky Delta Air Lines Raffle Winner

On July 14, volunteers Sylvie and Ellen (shown here) pulled the winning entry in the recent Delta Air Lines raffle . The prize was two round-trip tickets on Delta to Europe. The winner was Margaret K. of Tigard (photo below at the right), who reports that she has never won a raffle like this before and affirms, "This is honestly the most appreciated gift I (we) have ever received!" Margaret's husband is in the U.S. Navy and returns ashore this August after deployment at sea. Winning the tickets will make it possible for the family to go to Paris later this year. Thanks again to all for participating.
