French Online Auction Now Open! 
Today the Alliance opened a brand new online auction to the public. Everyone is invited to participate. This particular auction features items ranging from $19 to $400 in value; all these  items will be sold to the highest online bidders, through April 17. Included are over 30 restaurant certificates, many education and lessons items, books, facials, and plenty for the whole family! Bidding is fun, secure, easy and all proceeds benefit our nonprofit missions. New to online auctions? Click here for some tips and click here to view the site! The first 20 bidders will automatically win a St Honoré gift card. Amusez-vous bien! French Event at Oblation This Saturday 
Oblation Papers & Press in the Pearl will host a French celebration with an author appearance and book signing on Saturday, April 12, from 1-3pm. Karen A. Chase, an award-winning travel writer from Virginia, will be featured at this event, entitled "Bonjour Paris!" Karen is the Virginia-based author of "Bonjour 40: A Paris Travel Log." The event will be at Oblation Paper & Press, 516 NW 12th Avenue. Attendees will get 20% off of select French items in-store, and a free macaron with each book purchase! No need to register for this free event; just show up and enjoy.
Music at St Honoré This Week 
On tap this week for the new St Honoré at 3333 SE Division will be live music with Portland's French Troubadour. From 6-9pm on April 10 and April 11 (Thursday and Friday), Eric John Kaiser will play a  set of French classics with songs from Edith  Piaf, Jacques Brel, Georges Brassens and Charles Aznavour. Free, no cover. Enjoy a special Happy Hour French Food menu. All ages are welcome. Remember that the same venue is the site of a new conversation group where you'll no doubt spot the French chef/owner, Dominique Geulin. That group meets the first Monday of each month, at 6pm.    
You Can Still "avoir de la chance"...
Here's a photo of the raffle stubs filled out so far for the April 19 drawing of two winners who'll go anywhere in the world, on Delta Airlines. You still have time to "avoir de la chance"! Buy raffle tickets online by April 17; click here. The drawing will be on April 19; no need to be present. Maximum 800 tickets to be sold.

   Now hiring:  The Alliance is seeking to hire a part-time bookkeeper, 5 hours per week. Duties will include Quickbooks data entry, accounts receivable, accounts payable, monthly banking reconciliations, bill paying and online payroll management.    Le Cercle Français se réunira le jeudi 24 avril de 12h à 13h à la First Congregational Church 1126 SW Park Avenue. Marie EngelCercle titlehardt nous parlera de Coco Chanel et de son importance dans l'histoire de la  libération féministe. (Une contribution est demandée de $3 individuelle, ou $5 par famille). Nous espérons vous voir nombreux.
   Summer Camps and Immersion Programs: The Alliance will oSummer Sunffer two week-long, half-day summer camps for children as well as 3-4 immersion programs for adults, in 5-day and weekend formats. Look for those dates to be published in the next bulletin. 
   Congratulations to Alice Fernandez for winning the recent raffle for a free Alliance class. Thanks to all the students and members who participated.
