Paris Apartment in Le Marais
Next month's fundraiser will feature hundreds of items (for bidding online and at the event), ranging from $25 restaurant certificates to apartments in the trendiest parts of Paris, such as a luxury apartment in Le Marais, called "La Table du Roi," which is owned by a member of our Alliance. The apartment, which was featured on House Hunters International, is located on the second floor of a 17th-century building on rue du Roi de Sicile in the heart of Le Marais; it is steps from rue de Rivoli, rue Vieille du Temple, the Hôtel de Ville and the Seine. Click here for photos and watch for links in next week's bulletin, on how to bid! (Note: Alliance members also get 10% off when booking this apartment directly through the owner. More info to come soon.)
Last Chance for Spring Term & Mini-Workshops
The 10-week spring term begins the week of March 31st. Some classes are full but most have openings. Visit the website for the complete listing of classes; there are about 42 classes for adults and 7 for children. Concerned about missing classes? The Alliance offers complimentary make-ups, whether in another class at the same level, or through one-on-one tutoring sessions. In addition to the 10-week term, also consider the offerings in the one-week intersession, from March 24-29 (this week). Click here for the list of 5 intersession workshops, ranging from 2 hours to 10 hours.
What Is Soirée St Tropez?
We're getting lots of questions on the April 19 Soirée. In short, it's a unique evening that features French-themed auctions, seated dinner, excellent wine and food (overseen by Executive Chef Philippe Boulot) and live entertainment at the MAC, all for the low fixed price of $75. Registration is open to members, non-members, Alliance students, the general public (21 and over). Most people sign up as individuals or couples; we then group tables by interests, language, etc. Alliance students can request to be seated with other students; friends and neighbors can be seated together; or simply request language seating as English, French or "mixed." Proceeds of the evening benefit nonprofit education missions including scholarships. Register online; the link is on the event page.
