Beaujolais Nouveau at the Heathman
Portland's 12th Annual Beaujolais Nouveau Fête will be held on Friday, November 22, 2013 at the Heathman in downtown Portlandnull. Presented by the French-American Chamber of Commerce and the Alliance Française of Portland with partners, the Heathman Hotel and the Heathman Restaurant & Bar, the event is the largest on the West Coast, drawing 450-500 each year. Guests will enjoy Beaujolais nouveau wine, premium Oregon and Washington wines, cognac, absinthe, European-style cider, in addition to facility-wide gourmet buffets that will include Sylvie grass-fed beef, roasted pig, lamb, Hama Hama oysters, charcuterie, premium ham, imported French cheese, assorted fresh breads and tantalizing desserts. This event sells out early each year, click here for event details and here to reserve.
Students Share Feedback, Highlights
Each term the Alliance surveys its students to gather feedback. Click here to see some of the highlights of their comments, from the just-completed summer session during which a total of 310 students participated in group classes, summer camps, annulld private tutoring. Enrollment is brisk as well for the fall term which begins the week of September 16. Considering a class but worried about absences? Remember that complimentary make-up options are available for most classes - this is a very popular feature that helps students stay on track even when work or other conflicts get in the way of attending class. Optionally, consider private lessons - at any given time the Alliance has up to 100 students in private lessons, either one-on-one or custom small-group lessons for persons with a shared level and interests. Email info@afportland.org or call 503.223.8388.
