Film Premiere Event at Living Room Theaters  

On Wednesday, May 8 at 7 p.m., the Alliance will partner with Living Room Theaters for a premiere screening of the film, InTheHouse2"In the House" (Dans la maison), before it opens to the general public. Purchase your tickets for just $6 for this benefit event (the theater donates all proceeds to the nonprofit mission). Directed by François Ozon, the film features three big stars: Kristin Scott Thomas, Emmanuelle Seigner, and Fabrice Luchini. Critics describe the movie: "Impressively directed and darkly funny, this is a hugely enjoyable French black comedy with a clever, thought-provoking script and terrific performances from a note-perfect cast." Soirée Belle Époque - Photos Online!

Normandy Dinner Event on June 6 at the MAC  

On D-Day, June 6, 1944, the course of history was changed on a beach in Normandy. Two Normandy chefs, Philippe Boulot and Dominique Geulin, honor that historic dateNormandy Dinner 2 with a special dinner on June 6 at the MAC. The Alliance Française is organizing some tables at this event where guests will have the option to be seated with tablemates who speak French (only), English (only) or mixed English-French. To reserve seats  through the Alliance, click  here (you do NOT need to be an Alliance member or a MAC member). The cost for the four-course dinner of Normandy-inspired cuisine (click here for the menu) is $66 and includes the gratuity. (Guests will pay separately for drinks of their choice.)

Delta Air Lines Raffle Winner!

Raffle tickets for two roundtrip Portland-Paris tickets were pre-sold in April via this bulletin and offered for sale during the event at the MAC on Saturday, ApriDeltaNew2012l 20. Many thanks to all of you who participated inlauriw the raffle. We are pleased to announce that the winner is Lauri Winther (pictured here at right), who bought her tickets (a packet of 5 for $40) during the pre-sale period. Lauri is planning to use the tickets for fall travel to Paris and Beaune. Merci to the official air lines sponsor, Delta Air Lines, for their support of the fundraiser.

  Job Posting with Updated Contact Info: In a March bulletin we posted a job opening for French Artist Club, a wholesale company that imports and distributes greeting cards and gifts from France, Germany and England.   Summer Sun  Alliance Summer Term: Many of you are inquiring about the summer schedule. The schedule for adult classes will be posted in mid-May for classes running June 24 to August 31. The schedule for summer camps for children is available and enrollment for those is actively underway. Contact 503.223.8388 to inquire about the summer camps. Finally, interviews for the Immersion Program for adults in August at the Oregon Coast will be getting underway in the next two weeks.
