Last Chance for Delta Air Lines Raffle!

Feeling lucky? This coming Saturday, April 20, we'll draw the winner of two roundtrip tickets, valid for travel on Delta Fellow at Arc  designated flights operated by Delta, Air France, and KLM between Portland and Paris beginning April 20, 2013 through April 19, 2014. Raffle tickets are $10 each or five for $40 and are open to the public to purchase, from now through April 20, by calling the Alliance office at 503.223.8388. Spring French Folk Dance on April 27  

Two French Folk bands, Sonerian of Seattle and Mistral of Portland, will hold a Spring French Dance on SaturdaFestNoz2013y, April 27, at the Village Ballroom (700 N. Dekum  Street), for all ages. Doors open at 7:45 p.m. No experience and no partner is necessary. All dances are taught. Admission is $10 general, $5 students and under 18.  $25 for a family of four. Email Ian Clemons (an Alliance member) if you have questions, or visit the Mistral group's website.

The Soirée Belle Epoque, to be held April 20 at the MAC in downtown Portland, features rental properties in Paris as well as Provence, sunny auction preview Languedoc and even the hot spots on the Côte d'Azur. Check out the listings, photos and more in the online auction preview - click here. "Chanteuses à Trois" at Tony Starlight's

On Wednesday, May 8, Tony Starlight's Supperclub in the historic Hollywood District of NE PorParis Pic Trio Singingtland will feature an evening of French song with three of Portland's top chanteuses: Mitzi ZilkaCarol Rossio and Heather KeizurThe three vocalists will be accompanied by Craig Bidondo (former Alliance student) on piano and Mike Doolin on bass.  Click here and scroll to the May 8 listing for details. New Growth, New Classroom, New Screens   

Student enrollment in the spring term is up by 20 percent, coinciding with the opening of a new, dedicated Allnew screeniance satellite classroom in the adjacent church, First United Methodist. Says Education Manager Kathryn Mascorella, "Two weeks ago we installed new furniture and supplies in Room 209 at FUMC. The facility is getting very positive reviews from students and teachers."  In other new developments the Alliance is beta-testing interactive digital teaching supports and wireless connections to large screens, shown here.
