WMS student's photograph selected for Berlin and New York art exhibit
Landon Hartline, eighth-grade Wayside Middle School student, was selected to be a part of the EyeEm New Talents Gallery exhibit at EyeEm Studio in Berlin and New York.
The aspiring photographer named his photograph, "Emotion." The photo was taken using a Nikon D3300 camera, a gift he received this past Christmas.
"It was the first photo I'd ever taken," Hartline said. "I'm honored to have my photo featured." EyeEm Studios is located in the heart of Kreuzberg and Manhattan. The studio features up-and-coming talents from around the world.
Two EMS students named state champs at 50th Anniversary Texas High School Gymnastics Championship
Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD hosted the 50th Anniversary Texas High School Gymnastics Championship meet
April 29-April 30 at the district's Chisholm Trail High School in Fort Worth, TX. Nearly 300 students from across the state traveled to the event to compete for various high school gymnastics titles.
While the competition was fierce, all three of the district's programs continued to solidify EMS ISD as powerful force in Texas high school gymnastics with two EMS students walking away as champions in their events and the SHS boys team finishing second overall.
EMS board member receives prestigious CPA of the Year Award
Long-time EMS ISD Board member Steven G. Newcom was recognized on Tuesday, April 26, as the CPA of the Year for the Texas Society of CPAs' Fort Worth Chapter. Each year, the chapter asks for nominations from its more than 2,400 members. Once the nominations are received, a committee reviews the nominations and selects a winner. Mr. Newcom has been an active part of the organization's Fort Worth chapter for many years.
