German Exchange Students Experience the Hollenstein Career and Technology Center

Boswell High School is hosting 25 high school sophomores from Winterberg, Germany from March 21 to April 10 as part of the German-American Partnership Program (GAPP).

On Wednesday, April 1, the students were given the opportunity to tour the Hollenstein Career and Technology Center. Dr. Chadwell welcomed the students in German and the Director of Career and Technical Education, Dana Eldredge, gave them a tour of the facility. The students were excited to see all that the Hollenstein Career and Technology Center (HCTC) had to offer. They were especially impressed with HCTC's health science and automotive technology units. When the tour concluded, the students gathered in the conference room to eat a catered lunch prepared by HCTC's hospitality students.

The German-American Partnership Program is the largest and most successful German-American student exchange program; currently serving over 800 active school partnerships. Each year more than 10,000 students travel to Germany and the USA to spend time in our local schools and enjoy life among our host families. GAPP is a project of the Goethe-Institut New York, principally funded by the German Foreign Office, with some funding from the U.S. Department of State and private donors.

New Application and Award Process for Education Foundation Grants
Submit a Letter of Inquiry by May 1, 2015 to be considered for a grant award this fall.
