Compensation Salary Information
From the Desk of Jim Schiele, Chief Financial Officer

Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year! As of now your salary is available for you to review in Skyward through Employee Access. Click here for instructions on 'Getting Started with Employee Access for Payroll' and reference the section on 'Check History.'

For those of you who are new to the District, Steve Williams is the Chief Human Resource Officer, and I am the Chief Financial Officer. Our offices work very closely together to ensure that you are compensated correctly.

In recent years we have had isolated instances where information regarding insurance or investment products has not uploaded correctly. We do our best to double check the upload, however we need you to verify all information regarding your salary and all deductions on your paycheck. Important Note: Premiums for insurance have changed and the retirement rate for member contribution has changed from 6.4% to 6.7%. Please check all line items in your salary analysis.

If you have questions regarding your annual salary and/or benefits deductions, please follow the steps below:

Complete the Compensation Concern Worksheet and attach a copy of your current check information from Employee Access for the pay period in question. Return all of the documents to the Payroll Department by inter-campus mail, email, or by Fax: 817-232-0238.

Returning employees who have remained in the same position for the 2014-2015 school year - Payroll will address your salary concerns. (If necessary, Human Resources may get involved to help with a resolution.)

New employees or employees who have changed positions - Payroll will forward your Compensation Concern Worksheet to Human Resources.

Following the worksheet review, the Payroll Department or Human Resource Department will contact you by phone, email, or inter-campus mail within two weeks from the time the concern is received.

Sick Leave Bank Enrollment
Enrollment Period Open Through September 30th

EM-S ISD has established a Sick Leave Bank for employees. Employees who are members of the Sick Leave Bank can access additional sick leave days for catastrophic, incapacitating personal illness or injury. Employees donate days to the bank to participate in the program.

The Sick Leave Bank is only available to current employees who are have previously enrolled in the bank and days from the bank will be granted only after the member has exhausted all current and accumulated state and local leave and emergency and hardship leave. The enrollment period for the Sick Leave Bank is September 2, 2014 - September 30, 2014.

Donation Guidelines:
  • Employees who are currently not a member of the sick bank but wish to join may either donate 2 days for unexpected use of employee's catastrophic incapacitating illness or 3 days to assist in catastrophic incapacitating illness of a family member
  • Employees who were a contributing member to the sick bank and received benefits from the sick bank must re-enroll to continue membership.
  • Employees who are currently a member of the bank who have donated 2 days previously, may now donate an extra day for the application of additional leave days for catastrophic incapacitating illnesses of immediate family members.
The sick bank guidelines and application may be found online by clicking here or by going to the district website at www.emsisd.com, and clicking on Departments/Benefits/Sick Leave Bank. For further information about donating, you may contact D'Nan Dakan in the payroll department.
Activity Cards
Employee Entrance Into Athletic & Fine Arts Events

The district no longer prints and distributes Activity Cards to employees. Instead, district issued employee I.D. badges replace the Activity Card for entrance into events. The employee I.D. badge will entitle the employee to all home school activities, including varsity athletics and fine arts events, during the 2014-2015 school year. The I.D. badge admits the employee only and is nontransferable.
