Greetings!
You did it again and we are so grateful! You voted us Best Bakery (as well as a couple of other categories!) in Central Kitsap, and we appreciate that so much!
Our team is very grateful for each of you and I'd like to take a moment to mention of of them, because I am exceedingly grateful for each of them, as well. Betuel is as loyal as ever and working 6 days a week to ensure that we have so many of your favorite dishes available each day. Chelsea is baking and going to school full time, with the help of Kailia who is also baking full time and those gals have come up with some wonderfully creative treats! Elise has moved over to the Soup and Salad position and she is killin' it back there! Shanice has gotten some training in that station as well so that she can be a great back up, though her main stage is up front where she breaks the sound barrier with her speed during a long rush.
Sara has also mastered the art of the rush, and she is full of great ideas and a fun energy, all the time. Anna is delightful working up front and she is very artistic, which you can see as she re-did our menu boards and they are gorgeous! Our newest team member is Harlee, and we are all looking forward to watching her bloom. We are super excited that Ivy is back with us once a week or so, as she is juggling school and home-life with kids as well as trying to fit us in to her busy schedule. Jason still bakes for us on most Saturdays and he is celebrating his recent engagement to be married next Summer! Barb is leaving this week to a different adventure, so we will be hiring again as soon as Harlee is feeling like she has a grasp on things here. It's only been 2 days, we won't push her too hard.
Each of those gems contributes great gifts to our business, and our lives, and we are honored to have each of them here with us. We have been working hard together and we all agree that YOU are the key to our success!
We are grateful to you each time you through our door. We know that you choose to come here and spend your precious time and money with us, and we want you to know that we are taking responsibility, being active in our community, making the world a better place and taking better care of you with every bite you take.
We appreciate your complaints and constructive criticism, possibly even more than your wonderful compliments (don't stop those, though!) because those gifts help us to continually improve what we do. While we always make extra desserts, bread and rolls, pre-orders are pretty much a 'must' to pick up the day before Thanksgiving so that we may ensure that you get what you want, and we get to go home at some point that day. Feel free to click the above link to see some delicious options and/or to download our pre-order form. You can always come into the cafe to pick an form up, too!

Back by popular demand for just one night we will turn into Monica's Pizzeria!
Take a delicious break from Thanksgiving left-overs and shopping madness on Saturday November 29th: Come down to Monica's for a fabulous meal!
Don't be surprised when you arrive and find that we are a pizzeria offering our hand-tossed pizzas.
They are SO delicious!
The annual Silverdale Tree Lighting Festival is that day, too, with fun events at the library, Silverdale Antiques, and more, so you can end your fabulous day of family fun right here, with the best pizza in town!
We will make the dough, sauces and other ingredients that day and want to make sure there is enough to go around, so we are offering the opportunity to pre-purchase certificates in the cafe before or on Tuesday November 24th.
They will not be available after Tuesday.
$15 Pizza Certificate: Your choice of pizza for $15! Give a certificate as a gift, or use it yourself!
Of course, you are free to join us without a pre-purchased certificate. We will be open until 8 pm, or until we sell out, whichever comes first. We highly recommend that you make a reservation if you would like to dine with us so you can avoid the waiting list.
We will offer to-go orders as well as dine-in, so you can pick it up and take it with you. We always get RAVE reviews from everyone who eats our pizza, it's the best in the county!
So what's our pizza like? I'm glad you asked! We will offer a set menu of Italian style pizzas: Thin crust with a nice chew to it and premium toppings. Mark and I learned to make pizza in Italy and we have appreciated it in New York and a few places in Seattle. We want to see great pizza in Kitsap, even if it's for just one night! We have taught many happy customers in our pizza making classes and now, for one night only, we will serve it to you!
We will also offer our world famous pulled pork, a pasta dish, a couple of entree and side salads, sodas, wine and beer, as well as a few delicious desserts!

Celebrate the Return of Salmon
Saturday November 14
Attend two free events on Chico Creek and learn more about salmon in Kitsap CountyCelebrate the return of the salmon to Kitsap County on Saturday, November 14. Watch migrating salmon and learn from fish biologists at two locations on Chico Creek in Bremerton:
Mountaineers Foundation Rhododendron Preserve and Chico Salmon Park at Golf Club Hill Road and Chico Way. This free event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at both locations. Activities are for all ages and include informational booths, refreshments, and viewing salmon in the stream. Biologists will talk about the various types of salmon in Kitsap, the salmon life cycle and healthy fish habitat. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. A visit to the Mountaineers Foundation Rhododendron Preserve involves a hike down to the stream through old growth forest with the last walking tour starting at 1 pm. Or stop by anytime from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Chico Salmon Park. Uncork your creativity! Enjoy some fabulous wines and light appetizers while you create a painting with a step-by-step method from Kitsap Art. Includes all art supplies, step by step instruction, light appetizers and first glass of wine. Additional wine is available!

Here is one small way:
Maybe you don't want to cook or even have us make your Thanksgiving feast this year. Maybe, like Mark and I, you are working tons and just want a simple, delicious meal, and if it does some real good in the community, we're there! In fact, Mark and I will be at the 4 pm seating, feeling extra thankful for a rare meal out.
This Thanksgiving holiday Janet Plemmons, Innkeeper at The Manor Farm Inn in Poulsbo, is hosting a "Thanks and Giving" meal - a traditional Thanksgiving dinner in a beautiful, warm setting with all the proceeds being given to the Kitsap Rescue Mission!
There will be two seatings on Thanksgiving Day, the first at 1:00 pm and the second at 4:00 pm.
Cost per person is only $35.00.
Call Janet at 360.779.4628 or contact her at janet@manorfarminn.com to make a reservation. You can enjoy a delicious traditional meal and still make a difference for the greater good.
Here's the menu:
Ceasar Salad, Turkey with Dressing, Potatoes, Gravy, Tomato Braised Kale, Corn Pudding, Cranberry Sauce with Oranges and Pecans, and Whole Wheat and Sourdough Rolls. Pumpkin Pie with Whipped Cream or Whiskey Sauced Bread Pudding for dessert.
