Love is in the air, can you feel it? The Seahawks OWN the Superbowl! I am loving the weather lately, and it's about to get super cold. We love our staff team and all of you, and what we get to do here, each day. It is our mission to make this world a better place whenever we can, and so many of you embrace that philosophy as well, so it seems we are an excellent match!
It's time for Valentines and many of us think of going on a date to celebrate. Mark and I began dating in 1987 and I still love it when we find time to 'date', even if we are enjoying an evening in. I have always loved dating, and the little thrill of joy that comes from a good date, and I look at all my dates that way. Mark isn't the only person I enjoy dating, I love getting together with my friends for dates, I have standing dates with each of my parents both separately and together, and I even love going on a date with myself, after all I am pretty good company!
Last weekend Mark and I had a date with a couple of our closest friends and we had a fantastic time. We played, laughed, relaxed and reconnected and reminded ourselves of why we love them so much. It always feels good to connect with our friends and family, it feels like a mini vacation when I absorb the joy we feel when we are with them.
This month I hope you find a few moments or hours to spend some quality time with someone you love or even just express your appreciation for them. It will do you, and them, a world of good.

So many of you wonderful people pleaded with us to try it one more time, and your wish is our command! Besides, the rest of you can try the best pizza in Kitsap! For one night only Monica's Waterfront Bakery & Cafe will become a Pizzeria, we will be closed for our regular business that day.
Don't be surprised when you arrive and find that we are a full-service, please-let-us-seat-you pizzeria offering our hand-tossed, super delicious pizzas.
We will make the dough, sauces and other ingredients that day and want to make sure there is enough to go around, so we are offering the opportunity to make reservations, pre-order take away pizzas, and pre-purchase discount certificates in the cafe before February 15. These certificates must be pre-purchased and we strongly recommend placing a reservation, whether you pre-purchase a certificate, or not.

So what's our pizza like? I'm glad you asked! We
will offer a set menu of Italian style pizzas: Thin crust with a nice chew to it and premium toppings. Mark and I learned to make pizza in Italy and have appreciated it in New York and a few places in Seattle. We want to see great pizza in Kitsap, even if it's for just one night! We have taught many happy customers in our pizza making classes and now, for one night only, we will serve it to you! And yes, we will do to-go orders for you as well, although we think it tastes best right out of the oven.
Come on down to Monica's for a fabulous meal! Of course we will offer some great salads & appetizers, wonderful wine and local sodas to go with the pizza, as well as a few delectable desserts.

Monica's is providing the included lunches and the day is chock full of great information and idea sharing.

Our neighbor Jason Parker, of Parker Financial Services, shared this video in his last newsletter, and I wanted to make sure even more people saw it.
A couple from Tacoma is sharing what they know about creating backpacks filled with needed items for the homeless, and they do it for very little money. It is so nicely done and the information is quite valuable, so please check it out here:

And if you want to create a backpack or a few of them, you are always welcome to bring them to us and we will get them to those who need them the most. Don't forget that kids and babies need stuff, too.
