Utica Summit IV - Shaping an Energy-Rich Future
|
Anticipating the impact from a regional cracker is a major theme of Utica Summit IV. Shell has announced it will build a 94-mile pipeline through parts of Ohio, PA and WV. Gas processing plants in Cadiz and Scio, Ohio, will feed ethane to Shell's cracker plant in Beaver County, Pa. In its fourth year, Utica Summit IV draws a line from Utica energy to the plastics industry. That line goes through the ethane crackers proposed for the tristate Utica region. Summit of Sustainability Series: Sustainable Grant Workshop |
In 2012, the Greater Akron Chamber along with the City of Akron, County of Summit, Keep Akron Beautiful and ReWorks created the Summit of Sustainability Awards. The goal of the Summit of Sustainability Awards was to recognize local organizations that have successfully implemented sustainability practices. In 2016, a series of educational sessions will be offered throughout the year. Come and learn about the basics of the City of Akron's Water Treatment Facility, as well as water/sewer billing and take a tour of the facility Akron Water Supply Bureau - The City of Akron Water Plant Division is responsible for treating approximately 35 million gallons a day (MGD) of surface water from the Upper Cuyahoga River via three impounding reservoirs. The primary reservoir, Lake Rockwell, located in Franklin Township; Portage County, Ohio is supplemented by Wendell R. Ladue Reservoir and East Branch Reservoir. Total storage capacity of the three reservoirs is over 10 billion gallons. The Akron Water Treatment Facility is an enhanced coagulation, rapid sand filtration treatment plant which has been in service since 1915. The Akron Water Treatment Facility continuously provides its customers with high quality water which exceeds all regulatory requirements.
