Greater Akron Chamber's 109th Annual Meeting - March 23, 2016

The Greater Akron Chamber celebrates its 109th Annual Meeting on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at the John S. Knight Center. At the event, Anthony Alexander, former Executive Chairman, President & CEO of FirstEnergy Corp., will be honored as the twelfth recipient of the H. Peter Burg Award.
The H. Peter Burg Award recognizes an individual who has displayed paramount leadership for the advancement of Greater Akron's economic and community development. Recent recipients of the award include LeBron James, former City of Akron Mayor Don Plusquellic, Steve Marks, and Joseph Kanfer. This annual meeting will feature an overview of the Chamber's accomplishments for the year and the installation of officers along with the new chairman of the board. We will also recognize the outstanding work accomplished by our board members and the business leaders of the Greater Akron Region.
The program includes a reception with hors d'oeuvres, open bar, dinner, silent auction, and entertainment.
The silent auction offers guests a chance to bid on items that will benefit the Chamber's educational programs.

 The Greater Akron Chamber proudly presents the 10th Annual 30 for the Future recognition program. 30 for the Future recognizes 30 young professionals (ages 25-39) who live and/or work in the Greater Akron Region, who are trendsetters in their industries and who make an impact on the region through dynamic leadership and community service. Nominations will be accepted through Friday, April 8, 2016. Each nominee will be required to complete the 30 for the Future Leadership Document. This document addresses specific questions regarding the nominees' leadership skills and community involvement. Nominees must be between the ages of 25 and 39 by Friday, April 8, 2016, to be considered. Make Sure Your Vote Counts This Election!
Voting is a right and the ultimate expression of our freedom. The Greater Akron Chamber encourages our members to vote and promote the importance of voting to their colleagues. Early voting has begun for absentee or in person voting at your local Board of Elections for Ohio's Primary Election. Primary Election Day is Tuesday, March 15, 2016, and voters will be making decisions on partisan candidates for President, U.S. Senate, Members of Congress, State Legislators and some local county officials.
