The Morning Buzz is a monthly speaker breakfast series, which aims to connect small- and medium-size businesses by facilitating the exchange of ideas and strategies for business growth and success.
On Friday, January 8, 2016, join us to hear the stories of Old Carolina Barbecue Company, Baja West Coast Kitchen, and Smoke the Burger Joint as told by one of its founders, Brian Bailey, President & CEO of Ichor Restaurant Group. Ichor Restaurant Group is the parent company of the popular fast casual restaurant brands, Old Carolina Barbecue Company, Baja West Coast Kitchen, and Smoke the Burger Joint.
Brian got his start in the food business when he founded Old Carolina as a competition barbecue team in 2003. Last year, the nine-unit Northeast Ohio-based chain was listed in USA Today® as one of the Top Ten Barbecue Chains in America.
Hard work and dedication to excellence has driven this entrepreneur from a shoestring start-up to a $20 million organization in a short period. From his epiphany in a St. Louis barbecue restaurant in 1999 through today when the young company is about to more than double in size with ten new locations lined up for 2016, Brian is happy to share the important lessons he has learned along the way.
