OSC|16 Call for Presentations - Applications accepted through July 31  Do you possess knowledge or experience that can help Ohio businesses prevent workforce injuries? If so, consider sharing your expertise with others at the 2016 Ohio Safety Congress & Expo (OSC16). This annual event will take place the week of March 7, 2016, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. OSC16 features more than 200 educational presentations which offer continuing education credits for more than ten professions. You can be considered for a presentation that lasts one hour or six hours. The event draws more than 6,000 Ohio business and government representatives and employees. OSC16 is particularly interested in topics which apply to an advanced level audience with more than ten years of experience. You will be notified by October 31 of your submission status. Below is a timeline of the process: - June 15 to July 31 - Call for Presentation applications accepted
- August 1 to 15 - Program committees review applications
- August 15 to October 1 - Program committees invite applicants to OSC16
- October 31 - BWC notifies applicants not selected

The Summit of Sustainability Awards Application Deadline Fast Approaching |
The Summit of Sustainability Awards recognize sustainable leadership in businesses and organizations as well as share best practices.The 2015 application deadline for fourth annual Summit of Sustainability Awards (SOSA) is Wednesday, July 1. The application can be accessed on a Survey Monkey link through the www.SummitofSustainability.org website. Sustainable experts are also available, to all applying businesses/organizations, who can provide assistance on how to gather valuable sustainable metrics that can be shared with your clients and customers. A company can also be nominated by e-mail to keepakronbeautiful@akronohio.gov. Categories of possible SOSA winners include: Small Businesses with 25 employees or less, Medium Businesses with 26-249 employees and Large Businesses with 250 employees or more, as well as Nonprofit/Community Organizations and the Public Sector (Government/Schools), any of which have initiated sustainable practices. In addition, beginning last year, the judges have reserved the right to award a medal to individuals or projects that are innovative, within the submitted applications. SOSA showcases the best examples of commercial energy efficiency, waste reduction, water conservation and green purchasing. Since the 2014 awards ceremony, the SOSA committee more than ever envisions the possibility of a sustainable community throughout Summit County. Through the help of past winners, this program has shared individual videos on the sustainable efforts for each of these responsible environmental stewards - part of their winner's prize - in which we all reap the benefits through education. |
