Voting is a right and the ultimate expression of our freedom. As the voice of the business community, the Greater Akron Chamber encourages our members to promote the importance of voting to their employees and to educate them on the ballot issues. Please visit the Government Affairs page of the Greater Akron Chamber website for more educational information on issues and candidates appearing on the primary election ballot this May 5, 2015.
Statewide Issues
There are no statewide issues on this Spring's primary election ballot.
Summit County Issues
Issue 8: Akron-Summit County Public Library Levy is a proposed levy that would renew 1.4 mills and provide an additional 0.5 mills for library services. The tax would provide additional revenue for current expenses, to fill vacant positions, and to maintain and update technology. The system serves the citizens in the following school districts: Akron, Copley-Fairlawn, Coventry, Green, Mogadore, Tallmadge, Manchester, Nordonia Hills, Norton, Revere, Springfield and Woodridge. Proponents of this issue are "Citizens for the Library's Future."
The Greater Akron Chamber has endorsed this issue.
