Young Professionals Summit - April 30, 2015


Register today for the Greater Akron Chamber's inaugural Young Professional Summit: Further Your Impact. This half day conference will help you explore your Purpose, Passion and Performance as a young professional in the greater Akron community.

 

Keynote address "How to Succeed in Business and Life" presented by entrepreneur, best-selling author and television star Bill Rancic.  

 

Rancic will delve into lessons he has learned throughout his many business experiences, including; How to Break from the Pack, Make Each Day Count- Twice, and Separate Your Expectations from your Shortcomings. This motivational speech is packed with advice that audience members can apply to their lives immediately.

 

Dynamic breakout sessions featuring local speakers will leave attendees energized to focus their Purpose, Passion and Performance in an increasingly over scheduled environment.

Volunteer at the events listed below to earn tickets to an Earth Day Pizza and Movie Event on April 22 or passes to Super Saturday at the Akron Zoo on April 25.

Neighborhood Cleanup

5 - 7 p.m., Monday, April 20 through Friday, April 24

Meet at Miller Avenue Church of Christ (1095 Edison Ave.) for maps, supplies and instructions.

 

Garden Cleanup

10 a.m. - noon, Monday, April 20 through Friday, April 24

Akron Better Block  

The Akron Better Block project will take place Friday, May 15th through Sunday, May 17th at the corner of N Main Street and E Cuyahoga Falls Avenue in the North Hill neighborhood. 

 

There are a number of volunteer opportunities available.  

 

Volunteer opportunities include:building parklets, painting crosswalks, creating an outdoor plaza, and collecting data for the event here. Feel free to share the link with anyone else who might be interested!

 

If you're unavailable to volunteer, it will be great to see you out at the event! There will be a number of workshops available before and during the event.

Akron Civic Hackathon
 

On Saturday, June 6, SYN/HAK & OSC Tech Lab will host the Akron Civic Hackathon at OSC Tech Lab, 12 E. Exchange St.

 

The mission of the hackathon is to connect volunteer software and hardware engineers with civic & nonprofits leaders to solve technology based problems organizations may have.
