Voting is a right and the ultimate expression of our freedom. As the voice of the business community, the Greater Akron Chamber encourages our members to promote the importance of voting to their employees and to educate them on the ballot issues. STATEWIDE REQUEST
There are no statewide issues on this Fall's general election ballot.
SUMMIT COUNTY REQUEST
Issue 12: Proposed Sales and Use Tax County of Summit is a proposed sales and use tax that would approve 0.25% additional sales tax for 10 years. The tax would provide additional revenue to operate and maintain the Summit County Jail, repair the County's Emergency Radio System and county-owned facilities, fund the County's general fund and pay the expenses of administering the sales and use tax. The Greater Akron Chamber has endorsed this issue. Proponents of this issue are "Citizens for a Safe and Successful Summit County".
