 The Greater Akron Chamber is pleased to sponsor this year's 2 014 Streestscapes: AKRON in Plein Air. In June, regional artists painted scenes of downtown Akron outdoors at various locations, and 48 works were submitted. The exhibit is currently being shown at Summit Artspace Galleries and will travel to the Chamber offices later in August where it will be on display through the fall. Now is the time for companies to apply for the 3rd Annual Summit of Sustainability Awards, a program that will showcase the best examples of commercial energy efficiency, waste reduction and employee participation. The Summit of Sustainability Awards program will culminate in a "zero-waste" breakfast on Thursday, October 23, 2014, at The University of Akron's Quaker Station, showcasing the five winners. 9th Annual National Hamburger Festival

Help Support Akron Children's Hospital
The 9th Annual National Hamburger Festival takes place on Saturday, August 9 and Sunday, August 10 at beautiful Lock 3 Park in Downtown Akron. The festival celebrates Akron, Ohio, as the national mecca for hamburgers. Over 15 local eateries will be serving over 50 different styles of burgers. It is a fun-filled family event that has been a great event for our city.
Help support the festival this year by purchasing admission tickets for your employees and/or customers. It is a great way to show that you support our community and Akron Children's Hospital which the festival donates money to each year.
Tickets are regularly $5 each. They are only $4 for you as a Chamber member. You can order any amount that you wish. If you order 25 or more, tickets will be mailed directly to you so ACT NOW!

The Hamburger Festival is looking for volunteers to sell admission and food tickets. When: Sat. August 9 or Sun. August 10 at Lock 3 in Downtown Akron. Available shifts (10 volunteers needed for each shift): Saturday: 11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m., 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. Sunday: 11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. or 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. Volunteers receive free admission + one ticket for a friend, one FREE beverage of choice (alcohol included) and a FREE burger.
