Summit County Levy Requests
Issue 1: County of Summit Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health ADM Board is a proposed renewal levy (no new taxes) for 2.5 mils for 6 years. The levy allows the ADM Board to continue to provide mental health and recovery programs for children, adults and families, and for the acquisition, construction, renovation, financing, maintenance and operation of the alcohol, drug addiction and mental health services facilities. The Greater Akron Chamber has endorsed this issue. Proponents of this issue are "Support ADM Board".
Issue 2: Metro Parks Serving Summit County is a proposed renewal (no new taxes) of the property tax levy of 1.46 mils for 7 years. The levy is the sole source of dedicated funds for the maintenance, development and improvement of Metro Park properties and public programs. The Greater Akron Chamber has endorsed this issue. Proponents of this issue are "Citizens for Metro Parks".
Issue 3: Akron Zoo is a proposed renewal (no new taxes) of the property tax levy of 0.8 mils for 7 years. The levy helps support zoo operations and facilities that provides programs, exhibits and species in residence. The Greater Akron Chamber has endorsed this issue. Proponents for this issue are "Vote For Your Akron Zoo".
City of Akron Issues
Issue 4: City of Akron Proposed Charter Amendment that would allow the City of Akron to donate its steam and chilled water systems to Akron Children's Hospital to facilitate the Hospital's ongoing efforts to meet the long-term health care needs of children. The long-term stability of the plant is important to the hospital expansion plans and current users in the downtown area. The Greater Akron Chamber has endorsed this issue.
