YPN Summer Social Event with the Akron Aeros! 

 

Join the YPN and the Akron Aeros for a Summer Social Event followed by an Aeros game! YPN guests can enjoy $1 beers and a perfect game coupon that includes game admission, soda, hot dog and a bag of chips (optional). YPs are welcome to bring spouses, friends and/or children!

 

Cost is $6 for the game only and $11 for the perfect game coupon. Dollar beers can be purchased at the event. The social is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. located in a picnic area by the concession stands.  The Akron Aeros vs. New Britain Rock Cats game starts at 7:05 p.m.

Thirty G30FTF Genericreater Akron region young professionals have been named the recipients of the seventh annual 30 for the Future award. Part of the Greater Akron Chamber's strategy to attract and retain talent in the region, the 30 for the Future award honors young professionals (ages 25-39) whose stellar contributions impact their industries and the Greater Akron region.

 

The 7th annual award recipients will be recognized at a gala celebration at The Tangier on Thursday, September 12, 2013

Heinz Poll Summer Dance Festival with Groundworks Dance Theatre

 

Art and history combine for a ballet performance at the historic Glendale Cemetery! The Heinz Poll Summer Dance Festival presents Cleveland-based Groundworks Dance Theatre. "Critically celebrated as a cool and artistically significant ensemble, GroundWorks explores the nuances of the human experience through unique and adventurous choreography."

  

Join ArtCetera for a unique outdoor dance performance in the middle of the cemetery with an on-stage performance enhanced by the beautiful, park-like setting of historic Glendale!  This is a free event open to members and non-members. Guests will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the parking lot across the street from Glendale where a shuttle will take everyone into the cemetery. The performance is at 8:45 p.m. ArtCetera will provide water and other beverages; please bring a light snack/appetizer to share.  To attend, RSVP to Allyson Ford.

Volunteer Opportunities Available with the Cuyahoga Valley National Park

 

Habitat Restoration-- Invasive Plant Removal Drop-ins

Help restore native habitats in the park by removing invasive/ non-native plants using loppers and handsaws. This work is phase one of their habitat restoration effort. The remaining phases include: collecting native plant seeds, growing seedlings in the nursery and planting native vegetation in locations where invasive plants have been removed.

 

Schedule:

  • May - October, the second Thursday of the month from 1 - 4 p.m.
  • June - August, the fourth Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. - noon

Virtues & Vices: Child Guidance & Family Solutions

 

On October 4, Child Guidance & Family Solutions is hosting an evening of fun, entertainment, food and beverages as they initiate their new fundraiser, Virtues & Vices! 

Fairlawn Country Club will become a classy nightclub of crooning lounge singers, smooth libations and a high-rolling raucous gaming casino with card-sharks ready to test your mettle while Virtuous Volunteers stroll through this den of good times and delicious temptations offering redemption for your fun-loving habits.

Your support helps to ensure that Child Guidance & Family Solutions continues to provide support to the children and adolescents in our community who are suffering the challenges of mental, emotional and behavioral health issues.

Tickets are $95/person with a Young Professional Organization ticket price of $75/person. (Tickets will be available for purchase prior to the event. Follow the event on Facebook to ensure you are first in line!)
