Nominate a driven YP today for the 2013 30 for the Future Awards Program! Deadline this week!

 The Greater Akron Chamber proudly presents the 7th Annual 30 for the Future recognition program. 30 for the Future recognizes 30 young professionals (ages 25-39) who live and/or work in the Greater Akron region, who are trendsetters in their industries and who make an impact on the region through dynamic leadership and community serv ice.
Nominations will be accepted through Friday, March 29, 2013. Each nominee will be required to complete the 30 for the Future Leadership Document. This document addresses specific questions concerning the nominees' skills in leadership and community contributions. The 2013 30 for the Future award recipients will be recognized at a gala celebration in September.
Nominees must be between the ages of 25 and 39 by MARCH 29, 2013 to be considered.

YPN Spotlight Series
We've all heard the stereotypes about YPs: self-centered, entitled, fickle, etc., etc. Well, Akron area YPs are proving those stereotypes wrong every day by making major contributions to the community and to local businesses, from significant volunteer work to innovative business practices. The YPN developed the Spotlight Series as a way to showcase (ok, maybe brag a little) the stellar work YPs are doing right here in Greater Akron.
A new YP will be featured each month and will be asked a series of questions. If you are interested in being featured, contact Angela Presutti at presutti@greaterakronchamber.org.

What's a typical day look like for you?
I meet with older adults and families, listen to their unique story, and educate them how the many retirement living options at Rockynol can be customized to fit and even enhance their lifestyle.
What do you feel is your impact on the community - personal, professional or economic?
While serving the community, I also hope that I'm able to change the perception of aging and retirement living. Rockynol is an active place rich with education, social and cultural events, friendships, and faith. There's nothing retiring about us.

Akron Area YP Organizations Team Up for A Taste of Ohio!
 As part of our YPN Nights series, YPN has teamed up with the the Young Professionals of Akron, Torchbearers and ArtCetera for the premiere young professionals' event of the spring - a culinary tour of Ohio at West Point Market. Sample the very best wine and beer from our local vineyards and breweries - all paired with fabulous local artisan foods. You'll experience Akron in a whole new light while mingling with other young professionals.
 Tasting events normally cost $35 to attend, but West Point Market is giving young professionals a $10 pre-sale discount.

A crew is just another name for committee. The YPN has three crews that focus on our key initiatives: Next Generation Leadership, Marketing the Region and Community Engagement. Each Crew works smart to bring valuable, interesting and unique opportunities for YPs from all professions and backgrounds.
