Hello,
everyone!
As we're about to enter September, it's nice to anticipate Fall here in
the northern hemisphere! And before you know it, we'll be in October and
hopefully enjoy some cooler weather, and the exciting fall lineup of
greenroof & wall conferences will get underway. I'm lucky enough to
speaking at these three perennial favorites:
First up comes the
Portland Ecoroof Symposium 2016 on October 2 & 3 at Portland
State University with renown UK greenroof campaigner Dusty Gedge as
Keynote, along with other professionals. On October 1, you can choose
between the Local Portland Greenroof Walk / Bike Tour or the Oregon Wine
Country Greenroof Bus Tour (Aramis and I will be on this one!). Read my
"Come
to the Portland Ecoroof Symposium 2016 on October 2 & 3!" to
learn more.
Then on October 19 - 21 we're off to Bogot, Colombia, host for the
2016 World Green Infrastructure Congress (WGIC). Join fellow
industry leaders such as Patrick Blanc, famous for his gorgeous
hydroponic greenwalls; James Ramsey of New York's "The Lowline"; Tanya
Mller Garca, Mexico City Secretary of Environment; Brooklyn Grange's
Ben Flanner; and numerous other international luminaries. And make sure
to take in the sights and sounds of this beautiful Latin city and the
surrounding countryside with a variety of tour offerings. Read my "Come
to Bogota for the 2016 WGIC: Awards Program & Early Bird Discount Due
This Friday!" to see more. By the way, the next - and last,
Early Bird Discount is due on September 22.
And Washington, D.C., the U.S. city that is leading the charge, is home
to the
14th Annual CitiesAlive Conference on November 1-4. CitiesAlive
2016 will focus on rising to the stormwater challenge - a 10 trillion
gallon a year challenge - by examining policies, technologies, design
and best management practices. Come learn from a multitude of experts
(see the
Agenda at a Glance), take a course, and enjoy one of the tours!
Don't miss Green Roofs for Healthy Cities' first Early Bird Discount,
due on September 15.
