2013 Greenroofs & Walls of the World™ Calendar

May features The Lincoln Center Theatre, LCT3 in New York, NY. The rooftop addition of the Eero Saarinen-designed Lincoln Center Theatre is the home of LCT3, an initiative devoted to producing the work of emerging playwrights, directors, and designers. When the elevators doors open at rooftop level, visitors see a grand view of the outdoor terrace and greenroof. Pre-grown for two years prior to delivery, 1,356 (2ft x 2ft) Green Roof Blocks contain native plants and multi-species of Sedum. Anticipating a LEED Silver rating, the building features efficient systems and sustainable strategies, including the greenroof that covers 44% of the site footprint.

The Greenroofs & Walls™ of the World Calendar series combines two of our most popular destinations on Greenroofs.com: The Greenroof & Greenwall Projects Database and Upcoming Events.

It sure is heating up here in Atlanta - how about in your area?  We returned from Hamburg a couple of weeks ago where I had the distinct pleasure of moderating the 3rd International Green Roof Congress hosted by IGRA.  It was great to enjoy some cool days mixed in with a couple of sunny ones and visit lovely Hamburg as well as spend some time in Munich.  The Congress was excellent - awesome speakers, very professional and extremely well run; we saw a lot of our greenroof friends there from around the world!

Speaking of events, the spectacular RHS Chelsea Flower Show in London just ended - our colleague Nigel Dunnett is writing an article about it and his gorgeous medal-winning RBC Blue Water Roof Garden: rainwater for a living roof.

Here at Greenroofs.com we are updating our Sky Gardens Blog, so please be patient as we grow - plenty of great new postings coming soon!
