Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month
October is Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) Awareness Month. According to the Institute of Medicine, SCA is the #1 killer of student athletes and the leading cause of death on school campuses.

Parent Heart Watch, the national voice of SCA prevention in youth, is working with school nurses to #TakeThePreventionPromise and support the implementation of a Cardiac Emergency Response Plan in their schools.

Thank you for spreading the word about primary and secondary prevention strategies that can save young hearts.
