As the school year winds down, many students are preparing for summer camp - and with that, brings tick season! School nurses are the health leaders in their school community and are equipped to educate students and their families in the management of tick-borne illnesses. The NASN Learning Center offers a free, 1.0 CNE contact hour course, Tick-borne Illness: Prevention, Assessment, and Care, that describes risk factors for the disease in the school setting, highlights the signs and symptoms of common tick-borne diseases, and explains how to protect students from tick-borne disease. Great News - NASN Receives Grant to Address Chronic Health Conditions from CDC!
NASN was awarded the CDC National Collaboration to Support Health, Wellness and Academic Success of School-Age Children Cooperative Agreement titled, "Collaboration to Support Students with Chronic Health Conditions." This is a five year project that begins June 1, 2016 and ends May 31, 2021.

School-based Asthma Program Crucial to Address Gap in Pediatric Care
