Summer will be here before we know it! NASN and Shriners Hospitals for Children® are working together to encourage children across the nation to be Superheroes of Summer Safety by following tips to reduce the risk of injuries during their summer break. Swimming-related incidents, playground accidents, as well as campfire and fire pit burns are some of the more common and potentially life-altering childhood injuries that can occur during this time of year. Through educational materials, events and professional training, Shriners Hospitals and NASN will work together to ensure students know how to have a fun, injury-free summer. Get started by downloading the summer safety flyer for your health office and coloring sheet for young students (under Additional Resources). Thank you for keeping your students healthy and safe! Please Participate in NASN and University of Washington Bothell Study
NASN is partnering with University of Washington Bothell to conduct a national study about the school nursing workforce. There were 2,646 public and private schools around the country randomly selected to participate in the online survey that will provide critical data about the number, education, and work of school nurses. Invitation letters were sent in April. The study has been approved by the University of Washington Human Subjects board as exempt (minimal to no risk). If you or your school received an invitation letter, please help by completing it! Thank you!
