The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) encourages schools to test for radon. Radon is a known carcinogen and a leading cause of lung cancer. A nationwide survey of radon levels in schools estimates that nearly one in five has at least one school room with a short-term radon level above the EPA recommendations. Lead in the Water - The Health Impact on Children
