In November we recognize National Diabetes Month to bring attention to diabetes and its impact on those who have diabetes. School nurses provide support to students to ensure the diabetes is well managed during the school day, communicating with the student, family members, school staff, and healthcare providers. School nurses also provide education and ongoing supervision to support students as they transition towards independence and self-management. The National Association of School Nurses offers materials on our Diabetes in Children Resource page to assist you and your students. You will find many resources for your use as you care for your students with diabetes. Thank you for all you do to keep your students healthy, safe, and ready to learn.
