Video is one of the best tools for sharing information and communicating ideas. NASN is striving to make video resources available that show the positive impact of school nursing on school-age children, explain the work of the organization, and provide educational content to school nurses. I hope you will become familiar with the YouTube video library we're creating and visit it often for new content. One of the newest in the library is a message from me about NASN membership. As you watch it, you can reflect about why you value NASN membership or how becoming an NASN member can benefit you. Thank you for sharing your stories! Carolyn Duff, MS, RN, NCSN, President of NASN

NASN and Pretty Little Liars Actress Promote Importance of Meningitis Booster Vaccination People Magazine Pretty Little Liars actress Lucy Hale is helping to fight a real-life threat: meningococcal meningitis. To raise awareness, Hale, Sally Schoessler, NASN Director of Nursing Education, and meningitis survivor Jamie Schanbaum, joined forces to promote the Voices of Meningitis "Boost the Volume" campaign. The Centers for Disease Control reports 1,000 cases in the United States each year, and it can kill a patient in a day - and young people are the most vulnerable. Schoessler said, "It's difficult to diagnose because it looks like the flu, but it can take the life of an otherwise healthy individual within 24 hours." Read this article.
