Step Up Be Counted! is an initiative developed by NASN and the National Association of State School Nurse Consultants just in time for the new school year. It is designed for school nurses to collect rich and important data to begin building a national standardized data set for school nursing. This school year, school nurses who participate will collect 3 specific data points: 1. the numbers of nurses in schools; 2. the numbers of students with diagnosed chronic health conditions; and 3. the disposition of students seen in school nurse offices. The initiative will expand in future years. This is an exciting initiative for school nursing and we invite ALL school nurses to participate, so feel free to share this with your colleagues. Your participation is important. Access more information including resources and references. Thank you for stepping up to be counted! Carolyn Duff, MS, RN, NCSN, President of NASN
