As you slow down for summer, NASN is gearing up for the annual conference.  We will stay geared up for you all summer long, although the Weekly Digest will have limited editions.

The National Association of School Nurses' 46th Annual Conference is June 28 - July 1 at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter in San Antonio, Texas. The four-day conference offers school nurses from across the country strategies to build their leadership skills as well as enhance their understanding of laws and policies affecting school health. For two years, parents advocated for more school nurses for Charlotte, North Carolina schools. If the Board of Commissioners votes for their request of 33 more school nurses, there will be a nurse in every Charlotte Middle School (CMS) in the upcoming school year.

New FREE Prescription Drug Abuse and Misuse Awareness Tools
From Smart Moves, Smart Choices, a collaborative project between NASN and Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
New tools include a short animated video called "Choices" about the serious decisions and pressures facing teens regarding prescription drug abuse, and "Start Smart;" tools designed to help elementary schools educate children and parents about safe and proper use of over-the-counter and prescription medications.  Access these new tools.
