New Head of School

Mr. Christopher Rehm

"Leapin' Lizards! Come see the popular comic strip heroine Little Orphan Annie take center stage in ANNIE JR., an adaptation of one of the world's best-loved and most-performed musicals. With pluck and positivity, Annie charms everyone she meets despite a next-to-nothing start in the Depression-era New York City of the 1930s. She is determined to find her parents, who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. When billionaire Oliver Warbucks decides to invite an orphan to his mansion for Christmas, Annie gets her chance to experience NYC anew outside the confines of the orphanage. Despite Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, Annie befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and finds a new home alongside Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy."*

Physical Education Update
March is Phase II of the Soaring Eagle Fitness Challenge.  First through 8th grade have been working hard to beat their fitness results from September 2013.

Junior Kindergarten had fun learning to hit a balloon with different parts of their body.  While carrying out this activity they also learned their left from right.

Spring Basket Raffle

We are gearing up for the Spring Basket Raffle that will be held as part of the "Bringing Back the BBQ"  fundraiser  in March. Please consider donating a basket to  this special event.  It is your chance to be creative, get our students enthused, and help make the overall Auction a success!  (These make nice Easter gifts, too!)  We will be needing baskets for all ages, preschool through middle school.  A sign-up sheet will be at the front desk with guidelines for choosing a theme and listing your choice of basket if you wish to do so.  Please deliver baskets to the school no later than Monday with the donation form attached to the basket, in order to receive gift credit for your in-kind contribution.  Ticket sales for the baskets begin on March 10th and the drawing will be on Wed, April 2.

Kindergarten was showing off their fancy feet for Fox in Socks Day.
Dr. Lindy Hunt visited Tuesday from Australia where she is the principal of the Scone Secondary School.  She and 4 other professionals are visiting through the Rotary Study Exchange program and will spend 6 weeks touring the state.  Dr. Hunt spent an hour with the middle school students sharing similarities as well as differences between the students and schools in Australia and the United States.
It was Wacky Wednesday in the Preschool 3's so instead of writing on top of the table they colored underneath the table.
Dr. Ronald Sykes announces the appointment of Mr. Chris Rehm to the position of Head of School during the faculty and staff meeting.
Thank you to Mr. Senter for visiting the 7th grade American History class.  Over the course of two days, Mr. Senter answered student questions regarding the Bill of Rights and its application to criminal law.  He also helped the students create a government, write a law, and engage in a mock jury trial.  It was a wonderful learning experience that the students enjoyed very much.
