Welcome Friends,

Despite the best health practices, we sometimes get sick.  Mild to severe colds and flu may require rest and time off from usual activities.  Colds are caused by several hundred viruses that show symptoms of sore throat - two days; runny nose - four to five days; cough - four to five days.  After three days from the start of the symptoms, passing the cold to others is less likely but rest is still needed to return to health quicker.  Flu begins the same way but lasts longer with more intense symptoms that force one to rest.  Sore throat - two to five days; fever and headache and muscle soreness last up to ten days; congestion and cough can last for five to ten days.  Stomach distress can accompany the other symptoms.

Help your immune system help you to get over the cold or flu more quickly.  The body's immune system is adept at combating bacteria, viruses, fungi and a multitude of infections.  Immunity can be boasted by having to fight an attack because it then recognizes an attacker earlier and improves its efficiency.  However, getting sick is always stressful.  Being sick mandates more sleep and attention to diet, as well as slow to moderate exercise to boast the immune system.  Consider the immunity-boasting aspects of walking for short periods each day, indoors or outside.

Prevention is the best defense, of course.  Washing hands with soap, brushing teeth and rinsing the mouth often helps with feeling better.  Drinking water (try lemon water!) flushes the body.  Avoid touching your nose, eyes or mouth with your fingers, sneeze into your elbow not into the air, and use clean towels and drinking glasses.

Our Mission and Mandate

Fund raising is essential to help us celebrate our initiatives and support our efforts to engage the community we seek to coalesce and inspire.  With the talent of an outstanding grant writer, we are approaching public foundations to underwrite our programs.  Our goal is to revolutionize the focus on people aged sixty to eighty by bringing to the forefront the transformation in personal growth that is happening in the mainstream of this group in the United States.  We seek to provide an educational and spiritual forum for the "fourth generation".

Individuals can provide incentives by becoming a member of At Sixes and Sevens, Inc.  For a $10.00 monthly contribution or an annual $120.00 payment through PayPal, people may take a tax-deduction that gives us the financial capital we need to thrive and grow our mission.  undefined

Just a note to motivate your membership: historically the average age of incoming age of Presidents is 55 years.  This year among candidates the average age is 59 years.  Among those who were candidates and have dropped out, 7 were aged 60 or more, 4 were aged 50 to 57 years, and 3 were in middle 40's.

Currently, 5 active candidates are in their upper 60's and one is mid-seventies.  The three "leading" candidates, one of whom may be elected will govern during her or his early seventies, at least.  In other words, they are exactly in the middle of our 6's and 7's community.
