Dear Friends,
Welcome to our monthly Newsletter and greetings from Orleans, Massachusetts the home of At Sixes and Sevens Multimedia, Inc.
Sadly, At Sixes and Sevens, Inc. gives tribute to our Chairman of the Board, Warren B. Sillcocks, who died suddenly on May 2, 2015. He was a true gentleman who lived a good and generous life of service to his family and his community. Mr. Sillcocks served on numerous non-profit boards and church committees. Besides his philanthropic interests, Warren enjoyed reading, his garden, and travel. He leaves all of us At Sixes and Sevens, Inc. with heavy hearts but also with sincere gratitude for his work advancing our mandate and mission.
Cures for Mind and Body
"Goodness" is at once a general term and a specific reference to something we recognize in others or in particular settings. When people talk about goodness they are usually thinking of community service but it is just as much about empathy and how we treat each other.
"Goodness" is a model for behavior and action. It attempts to connect people to one another and to a program or project. For example, goodness can be modeled through the arts by engaging people in the process of creativity. Goodness can also guide us to integrate technology into our lives in more rewarding ways.
"Goodness" entails a commitment to bring integrity and kindness to our relationships and our work settings. It embraces open dialogue and it creates opportunities for discourse through listening, warmth, and approach-ability in diverse contexts. |
