To our members and friends who celebrate everything, old, new, and in between:
Maybe we have a new cause for celebration if we pay it half a mind. For example, in surprising ways both mysterious and miraculous, we all have very human and very specific stories to share with one another. Whether it be the biblical story, a historical, cultural story, or the evolving cosmic story, humans are drawn to telling and hearing and retelling meaningful stories. People who are, at last, at sixes and sevens particularly enjoy individual life stories and are eager to share them with each other.
Enter, about ten years ago, the world of podcasting! Simply put, a podcast is audio programming on the internet. It is "radio-style" but on-demand. Podcasts are received by subscribers automatically on all varieties of MP3 players. They are usually available as a series and new installments are easy and convenient to acquire. There are thousands of original podcasts that can be heard over and over and shared. In fact, most media outlets do some podcasting today.
Here is a link to a selection of what Slate calls the best podcasts of 2014. Click Here
I invite our At Sixes and Sevens Newsletter readers to sample some of the podcasts that interest them. I have two reasons for encouraging you to explore the world of MP3 devices and podcast programming. First is the vast array of original and passionate material in story form. Second is to introduce you our own podcast offerings. Many public radio outlets can be heard as podcasts because the programs are portable and can be aired at personal convenience, so we are embracing the trend. Podcasting is free, easily customized and potentially very appealing to our age group.

The Luxury of Quiet Thinking
What if every time you walked the labyrinth you accepted a sense of power to change the world for the better? What if I told you that your imagination could be so stimulated by the experience of walking the labyrinth that you could make change happen? Would you believe me?
Bear with me, for miracles large and small do abound, and people are often the catalysts. The imaginative process released while walking the labyrinth is real. It comes as a truly luxurious experience. It grows like magic as you practice. The more you do it, the more progress is made in hope, and ideals, and wisdom. That result alone is enough to change the world for the better. What would the world be like if many people believed in this consequential change and began in earnest to walk the labyrinth?
Let's imagine that we Want to change the way our culture encourages us to degrade our environment or promote health crisis through poor nutrition decisions. Supose we take the time to center these ideas in our mind. Then let us take them into the labyrinth and walk with them. Enjoy the luxury of quietly thinking during a slow and rhythmic walk on a single path. Try to feel the importance of unspoiled nature. Try to aspire to healing, health, and happiness in your own life. Espouse to the community the possibility for positive change in interacting with the environment. Unleash the wonder of dynamic healthy behaviors. When you step out at the end of your walk, breathe deeply and exhale luxuriously.
As we enjoy the luxury of walking the labyrinth, we embrace the age-old human skill of freeing our imaginations. We bring poetry to life, and that's a welcome change from the ordinary.

Looking Forward...
Come join our community!
The monthly newsletters don't focus on fund raising for At Sixes and Sevens, Inc. The outreach to people aged sixty to eighty is mainly the sharing of ideas. The goal is to build a foundation of community for people with vision and energy to live healthy, active lives in maturity. Empowerment comes from sharing experiences and activities that may bring benefit to all of us. This is at the heart of what we do at sixes and sevens. Our projects offer people a chance to be part of a commitment to wellness and longevity. Our mission however must be financed in the traditional non-profit way. Donors invest because they believe in our capacity and ability to meet our goals. Donors have a personal or social motivation to contribute to our work.
At Sixes and Sevens, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) organization. Contributions are income tax-deductible up to the full extent permitted by law. Tax ID # 46-2750916

Bringing Life to the Labyrinth invites those who want a more profound understanding of this 4,000-year-old symbol to open their hearts, minds, and bodies to the new consciousness that walking the labyrinth brings.
The labyrinth is a walking meditation tool, the uses of which are as limitless as the human imagination. This comprehensive guide to modern labyrinths is a companion for individuals and groups to enhance their spiritual, personal, and professional growth. It explores and explains the labyrinth's power, encourages the practice of walking the labyrinth for benefits above and beyond regular exercise and meditation, and points to its mystical aspects available to experience.
