Dear Members and Friends,

A recent AARP survey found that 80% of people in the 60 - 80 age group plan to continue working after age sixty-five.  They need to work because they want the income in some cases.  Others say they want to keep working for the fun of it and these people are looking for emotionally rewarding work situations.
Jen Sedlar and Rich Miners offer some suggestions and shared experiences in their book, Don't Retire, Rewire!.  If you don't know where to look for jobs that are best suited to your passions and interests, they give direction.  The book guides people who are older adults but who continue to think of themselves as fully engaged people.  Their lives reflect the positive benefits of relationships, non-work activities, flexibility, and future planning.
Don't Retire, Rewire! combines practical advice by sharing stories and anecdotes of people who have gone through the process of obtaining work whether part-time, volunteer work, or following a second career.
As you might guess, "rewiring" has become a hot button topic in the business world.  We at sixes and sevens support the inner strength of people between sixty and eighty who remain eager to contribute to their communities and the society as a whole.  Their resilience is admirable!

Come join our community!

The monthly newsletters don't focus on fund raising for At Sixes and Sevens, Inc.  The outreach to people aged sixty to eighty is mainly the sharing of ideas.  The goal is to build a foundation of community for people with vision and energy to live healthy, active lives in maturity.  Empowerment comes from sharing experiences and activities that may bring benefit to all of us.  This is at the heart of what we do at sixes and sevens.  Our projects offer people a chance to be part of a commitment to wellness and longevity.
Our mission however must be financed in the traditional non-profit way.  Donors invest because they believe in our capacity and ability to meet our goals.  Donors have a personal or social motivation to contribute to our work.

At Sixes and Sevens, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) organization.  Contributions are income tax-deductible up to the full extent permitted by law.  Tax ID # 46-2750916
