Hubbard Woods Spring Sing is THIS Wednesday, March 16, 7pm
This year's Spring Sing is going to be one to remember as we celebrate 100 years of our beloved HWS.

"There has been so much energy around this show and around these decades we're studying for the 100th anniversary," says music teacher Gary Wendt. "The kids are excited to be a part of it -- let's celebrate!"

Mr. Wendt said attendees can look forward to seeing each class perform songs from their assigned decade, as well as era-specific dances they learned during the recent dance residency. There will also be some guest appearances by some of the IDEA Lab's favorite robotic friends -- thus incorporating some futuristic flavor into the otherwise throwback-inspired evening. The kids actually choreographed the robots' parts in the show.

For their last Spring Sing at HWS, fourth graders will perform "I Love a Piano" -- a song from the year our school started, which they chose because they've been learning about the piano all year. The audience can look forward to some performances on keyboards during that number.

"We're going to celebrate who we are and who we're about to be," says Mr. Wendt.

See you all Wednesday, 7pm, at Skokie School's auditorium!

News and Notes

Hubbard Woods School Celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week!

Each day this week, the PTO will let our teachers know how wonderful they are by offering treats and notes of appreciation. You and your children will also be encouraged to write notes to the teachers (information provided by your room parents). To wrap up the week, all teachers and staff will enjoy a catered lunch and have the opportunity to win prizes at the Teacher Raffle on Friday.

The PTO Needs Your Help to Make the Teacher Raffle a Success!
It's not too late to make a donation to the theme gift baskets - just put your item(s) in the collection boxes in the front lobby. If you have any questions about the raffle, please contact Nicole Rivera at at nicolerivera1477@gmail.com

Also, please check your child's backpack for your opportunity to buy raffle tickets on behalf of the teacher(s) of your choosing. Tickets will be collected all week. Tickets are $5 each, or $20 for five tickets and $40 for 10 tickets.

Thank you very much for your support in honor of the wonderful teachers and staff at Hubbard Woods!
