The 100-Year Party Keeps Rolling
Here we are, more than 100 days into the 100th year, and every family has probably had a chance to celebrate HWS's amazing milestone or learn an interesting historic fact about our beloved school. From the 100th Birthday Party at the start of the school year, to the ongoing Decade Project (next topic: Science and Technology!), to making plans for the May 3rd Open House -- we have centennial fever!

Since the last Item came out, we've had two fun 100-year moments! We all enjoyed the pep rally-themed parent-faculty party at the Happ Inn -- a special thanks to Sarah Alshouse, Courtney Mathy and their team of volunteers for organizing a great night that set a record for highest attendance! Also, February 10th, students and faculty had a blast marking the 100th day of this 100th school year. 100 minutes into the day, everyone gathered in the auditorium and enjoyed a countdown and rousing rendition of the school song. Did we mention many students dressed up like they were 100-years-old?!

As the fun continues, here are two ways you can get involved:

Please reach out to ANY HWS Alumni you know and urge them to get in touch with us to share any photos, memories, stories, etc. We are making a video to showcase at the May 3rd open house and the more alumni who share the better! To share, they can do the following:

1. Attend one of our drop in sessions at the school Resource Center, when we will videotape/collect stories, pictures, etc. from their time at HWS.
Wednesday, Feb.24, 1pm-3pm
Wednesday, Feb.24, 6:30pm-8:30pm
Tuesday, March 1, 9:30am-11am
2. E-mail a photo (a digital photo or scan of an old printed photo is fine!), video (MP4 or .mov file), written story, etc. to: [email protected]

Please spread the word about our May 3rd Open House, 6:30pm-8:30pm at our school! You can visit and "Like" our FB pageHubbard Woods School's 100th Anniversary, which will help spread the word about our search for alumni and keep you updated on all of the great things we're doing to celebrate HWS's 100th!
