Winnetka Public Schools Foundation Phone-a-Thon
Monday, January 11, WPSF kicks off its annual fundraiser, the Phone-a-Thon. Funds raised during the Phone-a-Thon support programs in Winnetka's public schools that go above and beyond what could be achieved with tax dollars alone. This year, a generous anonymous donor will match the first $10,000 of donations made during the early online donation period (January 11-30). What a fantastic way to double the impact of your donation! To learn more or make a donation, visit wpsf.org. To donate by phone, please answer the call from a board member on Sunday, Jan. 31 or Monday, Feb. 1.
Would you like to learn more about what the Foundation does and how it supports students in District 36? The Foundation's annual Carlson Event is an opportunity to see Foundation grants in action. This year's event will be held on Thursday, Jan. 28, from 7-9PM at an elegant private home in Winnetka. District 36 educators will be on hand to showcase how their Foundation grants enabled them to create exciting learning opportunities for their students. At the same time, you'll enjoy conversation, a glass of wine and delicious hors d'oeuvres. For more details or to RSVP, please contact Rose Selker at rselker@aol.com.

Rigamajig Update
This week's entry in the Zen Librarian is a follow-up to the incredible Rigamajig project that students participated in during November. Students were to use Rigamajig to make their school a better place. Each grade level explored the school and interviewed staff to find things they thought they could improve. The grade levels each selected one problem to design a solution for. After the students submitted their entries in the contest, we waited for a response. Well, late in November we received one. Click here to find out just how we did!
