Dear Hubbard Woods Families,
Welcome to the preview issue of the Item e-newsletter, your primary source of information for PTO-related information at Hubbard Woods. Beginning August 23rd, the Item will arrive in your inbox every other week. There is no need to subscribe. The Item is designed to provide important information about everything from school lunches to special events to important dates in a succinct, easy to read format. Each issue of the Item will be similar in format to allow you to find key information with minimal effort.
While the Item should be your primary source for timely information, the Hubbard Woods PTO website is a wonderful resource for Hubbard Woods families with links to community organizations, detailed information about school policies and procedures, and contact information and descriptions for all PTO programs. New Online Payment Option - Log on NOW to
Complete Important Purchases Before School Starts!
The PTO hopes to streamline the back-to-school payment process by making it online this year! NOW, you can pay before the first day of school and you only have one payment! Itʼs as simple as logging onto the PTO's website to make your back-to-school payments. With a few clicks of a button you will be able to pay for the following: *School Supplies * Yearbooks * Teacher Gifts * Pizza Fun Lunch * School Directories * Birthdays Books
CLICK HERE to pay for all your back-to-school options! Please note, PayPal charges a processing fee and we have added it to the school supply cost. If you prefer to pay by check you may still do so on the first day of school. Please bring your checks written separately for each student and each option listed above to your room parent on the first morning of school (same process as previous years). Checks should be made out to: Hubbard Woods PTO.

 New Family Playdate, Tomorrow, Monday, 8/17 All new families and their buddy families are invited to the New Family Playdate this Monday from 3:30-5:30 PM on the Hubbard Woods playground. Siblings welcome!

School Tour for New Families,
Friday, August 21, 9:00 AM in the Auditorium
Tours for new families will be held on Friday morning starting in the auditorium, followed by popsicles on the playground. Please note, tours will not include visits to the teachers or inside the kindergarten classrooms as the staff is busy preparing surprises for the first day of school. Questions? Parents and children - let's celebrate the start of a new school year with popsicles on the playground! Join us right after the first day of school. Siblings welcome.

Rah, Rah, Rah for Hubbard Woods!
It has become a fun annual tradition to show our school spirit by displaying colorful Hubbard Woods yard signs in the days leading up to the first day of school. Volunteers will be placing a HW sign in your front yard next week. If you do not wish to have a sign please contact Lucie White

Seeking 3rd and 4th Grade Runners
Girls on the Run will meet after school every Tuesday and Friday from 3:15-4:40 beginning early September through mid-November. The program is open to all girls in grades 3 and 4. If you are interested in signing up your child, please respond to the email with registration information you should have received from Rebecca Collora ( rebeccacollora@winnetka36.org). Registration will begin early this year--August 24th.

Kiddos Hot Lunch begins Monday, August 31st. Click here t o order today! You must place your child's order by 9AM on Monday, August 24th for that first week of lunches. The Kiddos hot lunch program is available for students in Grades 1-4. Ordering is now open for the period of August 31-January 30, 2016. |
The first Pizza Fun Lunch will be Friday, September 11th. Pizza Fun Lunch is a school fundraiser that allows students to enjoy delicious Viccino's pizza on select Fridays throughout the school year. New this year:
Fruit will be provided along with the pizza!

The Hubbard Woods PTO involves parents and teachers working together on behalf of the school and its students. Parent volunteers help create a strong sense of community, provide support to our teachers and staff, and sponsor programs and activities that enrich our chidren's educational experience.
