Q: What is Mayfest '15 ?
A: Mayfest is the biggest blacktop extravaganza of the year and Hubbard Woods' annual carnival-themed fundraiser. This event is a 35+- year tradition featuring rides, games, music, lunch and an exciting raffle...all of which is powered by our children and your generous donation of time and monetary support.

Q: How can I get involved now to help support Mayfest '15?
Get involved by sponsoring a ride, being available to work your assigned shift, or by donating to the raffle. All donations BIG or small are appreciated!
*Raffle Donation Ideas*

Save The Date for SPRING SING!
Wednesday, April 29, 7PM
This is one of the most fun-filled days at Hubbard Woods! Students from grades 1-4 are mixed together on three different teams: Red, White, or Blue. Students are encouraged to wear their team colors on Field Day while engaging in activities including: trivia, water balloon toss, soccer dribble, and more. Teachers and parent volunteers work together to ensure the events of the day run smoothly doing everything from managing games to scoring or distributing water. In the event of inclement weather, Field Day will take place in the gym. If you are interested in volunteering, please click here to sign up now Click Here.
Questions? Please contact your Field Day co-chairs Anne Ross ( and Andrea Mercuri (
When you shop at The Grand Food Center, please remember to keep those receipts! The Grand generously donates 3% of pre-tax sales on submitted receipts to the PTO (both Winnetka and Glencoe locations apply). Just have your kids drop off the receipts in the box in front of Joan Kuzel's desk. Please support our local grocery store and our school!
Please take a moment to complete the online PTO volunteer form for the upcoming school year. To successfully continue PTO-sponsored programs such as the Yearbook, Pizza Fun Lunch, Mayfest, Book Fair, Art Smart and the Kiddos Lunch Program, we need your help.

We have opportunities for everyone, including roles that can be fulfilled working exclusively at home or those that involve collaboration with other parents. There are short-term commitments and those that last throughout the year. Let us help you find something that meets your needs and interests.

Please help boost our parent participation rate and enable many beloved programs to continue! Complete the Volunteer form found here today. Questions can be directed to the PTO at
Parents: Have you ever asked yourself, "Why do I need to submit the same information I provide during school registration a second time for inclusion in the school directory?" Well, no more! This year we will be collecting directory information via Infosnap during registration in June.  This will be your only chance to submit information for the directory, so please be sure to complete this section.  More information to come as registration approaches.  Questions? A ZEN LIBRARIAN - By Todd Burleson
Hubbard Woods was honored to have poet Tamera Will Wissinger spend two days with us during National Poetry Month. On Tuesday and Wednesday, April 14 and 15, she began each day with a general presentation that introduced us to her. Then she shared some of her work with her students. Click here to read more about her visit and to hear several students share their work!
