Welcome Hubbard Woods Families!
We're looking forward to a fantastic year together...a momentous year, actually, as our school celebrates its 100th birthday in 2015! What a great time to be part of the Hubbard Woods community. The PTO has planned several events in the coming weeks to reconnect with friends and to make new ones. Please join us for as many as you can, beginning with coffee and popsicles tomorrow.

Thank you for bearing with the barrage of dates and deadlines this first week. While details are below, the most pressing information remains to fill out the Online Directory Form before tomorrow (Click here...we are still missing information for 45 Hubbard Woods families!), order Kiddos lunch by August 31st (Click here) and bring your placement packet forms and your checkbook to school tomorrow morning.

We look forward to seeing you all soon!

School Supplies and Yearbook Orders

Fill out those papers and send them in tomorrow!

As a convenience to parents, the Hubbard Woods PTO arranges for every child to receive a school supply kit on the first day of school. Details and payment information were sent home in your child's placement packet. As it did last year, the PTO has added each child's yearbook fee to their supply kit fee in order to eliminate the need for a separate order form/check. Questions about school supply kits can be directed to Abby Burtelow (love_abby1@yahoo.com). Questions about yearbooks should be directed to Jennie Ely (jennie.ely@comcast.net) or Anne Albrecht Juliusson (anne@annealbrecht.com).

Rah, Rah, Rah for Hubbard Woods!
By now your yard should be graced with a colorful Hubbard Woods yard sign. At some point this week a volunteer will swing by to collect the sign from your yard. No need to return it yourself.
Thanks
Space constraints do not permit us to name each of the many, many individuals involved with all of the back to school initiatives.  Please know that your efforts are greatly appreciated!  Still, we want to take this opportunity to thank Laurie Cahill and members of her Back to School Committee for arranging to have signs placed on every HW family's lawn, among other efforts.  A big thanks to Greta O'Keef and Courtney Mathey and all the HW buddy families for their tireless efforts to make all of our new families feel so welcome. Thank you to Brie Root and her committee for providing the faculty and staff with a wonderful lunch as they prepared their classrooms last week.  A special thanks to Michael Collins for creating incredible digital maps of the HW traffic patterns and classroom layout.  Thank you to Nidhi Singh and Sean Kalil for spending much of the summer designing an amazing line of school spirit wear with accompanying magnets and water bottles. Abby Burtelow deserves great thanks for handling all of the school supply ordering and orchestrating the distribution of supply kits with the help of a great team of parents, school friends, and children.  Thanks to Jen Hayes for masterfully coordinating the assignment or room parents and Mayfest parents.  A huge thanks to Lori Miralles and her team for handling the timely collection of data and content to ensure the school directory will be available in mid-September.  Thank you Fran Fairman and her committee for ensuring that all members of the HW community will be greeted by beautiful flowers when they arrive at the front entrance to school.  Last but not least, a big thanks to Erin Donaldson for all her efforts to distribute timely information to our HW family through the Item and other communications.
