We absolutely love this photo taken at Van Buren State Park by Instagram friend @r000ster. The park offers camping, hiking, metal detecting, and picnicking along with its gorgeous beach and dunes.

Take a peek at these cranberries! DeGrandchamp Farms in South Haven hosted their Cranberry Harvest Day on Saturday, October 12th. Visitors had the chance to take a hay ride to the cranberry bogs and watch them harvest a sea of red, ripe cranberries! Photo credit and thanks to Katy DeGrandchamp!

There are never enough photographs of South Haven sunsets! Photo credit and thanks to Instagram friend @hollybchevy for this cool capture!

Local Artists Compete in
Grand Rapids' Art Prize!

God's Kitchen-Dawn Soltysiak
"John Doe" could be any of the many hungry faces of people in need. He sits upon a pile of handmade pottery bowls, which represent the food which God's Kitchen brings to the hungry. The full size figure is made totally of clay. The piece including all of the bowls will be donated to God's Kitchen for the annual Soup's On fundraiser. Last year God's Kitchen served 184,000 meals. This averages to about 520 meals a day and includes services at 9 meal sites across 11 counties and home delivered meals. The entry includes 800 handmade pottery bowls, which represent just over one day's worth of meals served. Thanks to the generous donation of bowls by over 50 potters!

Breath of Breeze-Michael Carlson
Michael is a member of the Michigan Maritime Museum, which features the tall ship, Friends Good Will. The ship sails out of South Haven where he and his wife, Ellen, sail their boat, Blueberry. He is also a US Coast Guard Auxiliary Crew Member, so of course he spends a lot of time on Lake Michigan. Michael has an enduring love for all things boat. He has an eye for their beauty and timeless conveyance. If you are interested in his photography, Michael can be contacted at carlsonmichaeld@gmail.com.

Thin Man-Patrick McKearnan
A set of four lifelike sculptures, two in bronze, two in epoxy and resin, make up McKearnan's untitled work.

Here's To The Fallen But Not Forgotten-Dan Spratt
In memory of Darrell Abbott. Included in this entry is a poem, song, painting, and a YouTube video. In honor of musicians that we have lost that inspire millions with their music. It brings out the thought that we shouldn't judge a musician. Visual art, stage, design, and much more are part of musicians/artists.
