Greetings!
The region's capacity to successfully produce grapes has built a robust wine industry, which will be shown off once again at the annual Wine & Harvest Festival in Paw Paw this September 6-8! St. Julian Winery & Warner Vineyards are two of Van Buren County's Wineries that will have their award-winning wines, champagnes, and sparkling juices available for tasting at the festival.
St. Julian Winery in Paw Paw is Michigan's oldest and largest winery. It was founded by Italian immigrant Mariano Meconi and located to its present site in 1936. Still
family-operated, it outlived Prohibition, consumer trends and economic swings to mark its 90th anniversary in 2011.
Three generations have contributed to the success of Warner Vineyards. The picturesque winery is situated along the banks of the Paw Paw River. Warner's 100-year-old designated historic building was built in 1898 as a waterworks station. It was rebuilt in 1965 from old wine casks and period lumber. Today the structure serves as a tourist and education center.
Please join us as we celebrate our local winemakers!
