TRY TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES JUNE 13 - 17 |
With traffic congestion on the rise and the average cost of gas per gallon in Houston hovering around $2.10, now is an ideal time to consider using alternate methods of transportation for your work commute. We encourage you to give it a try and dump the pump during Westchase District Transit Week, June 13-17. Getting to work within, to or from Westchase District is easy. Residents who chose not to drive also have access to:
- Two Park & Ride centers
- Ten METRO bus routes
- METRO STAR Van Pool Program - A vanpool is a group of 5 to 15 commuters who save money, time and stress by sharing their ride in a STAR van. METRO STAR serves an eight-county region, which includes Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Liberty, Montgomery, Waller and Harris Counties so you don't need to live inside the METRO service area in order to participate in a vanpool. Register to find others who live and work near you and have similar schedules.
