Laramie FUMC youth help fix homes at Wind River Reservation

Youth from Laramie First United Methodist Church helped to fix up three houses this past week at Wind River Reservation in Wyoming. The youth mission trip was done through Youthworks. The group stayed at the Wyoming Life Resource Center in Lander, Wyoming. They worked with other youth groups, including Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fort Collins, Colorado, pictured with them, above.

Whether you dread losing your beloved pastor or welcome a change in leadership, it feels like everything in your church is about to change. While that is not completely true, your congregation will be going through a significant time of pastoral transition.

Rocky Mountain Youth Water World Day is Aug. 2
Proceeds from tickets to go toward scholarships for conference youth events

It's Water World time again. This year, we are set to get wet on Sunday, Aug. 2 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. (we've got the wave pool again this year after closing!). The cost for the afternoon is $30 and proceeds will go toward scholarships for conference youth events. Everyone is welcome at Water World Day. For more details, go to the RMC Youth page. For your church to register a group (and to give us a rough count of who is coming), please email Debra Juarez at [email protected] with the name of at least one leader who will be accompanying your group as well as how many total adult and total youth tickets you will need. Please provide this information by Friday, July 24.

Missionary Focus

This month's Missionary Focus is on Nan McCurdy and her husband, Miguel Mairena. They are serving as Mission Advocates for the Western Jurisdiction of The United Methodist Church. Mission Advocates are active missionaries assigned to help annual conferences, districts, and local churches in the United States to understand and participate in global mission. Their work has a particular focus on mission personnel, including support of missionaries through the Advance. They will be teaching at the Rocky Mountain Conference Mission u in July, leading the Latin America study.
