Peaks and Plains/NE Colorado District Office Closing

The Peaks and Plains and NE Colorado District will close its office in Greeley effective August 31. The Greeley office houses the district administrative assistant Bernie Bliss and serves as office space for District Superintendent Skip Strickland. "This is part of a larger plan to consolidate RMC district offices," said District Superintendent Steve Goodier. "We would like to eventually move toward fewer assistants that work full time and may possibly be housed from the conference offices," said Goodier.

The vision is for dist
rict assistants to work for multiple superintendents in the hope that there will be less duplication of work and a cost savings over the present system of maintaining six separate offices. Superintendents Skip Strickland and Steve Goodier (Metro District) will be the first to experiment with sharing a full time assistant.

Stratton UMC Wants Your Shoes!

In hopes of raising funds to pay for a new air conditioner/heater in our Fellowship Hall and to offer a compassionate "hand up" to our brothers and sisters in third world countries, Stratton UMC in Stratton, Colorado, is collecting gently used shoes - tennis shoes, high heels, slippers, flip-flops, work shoes, sandals, cowboy boots, work boots - all kinds - for kids, women, and men!  After being sent to a "clean-up" company for refurbishing, the shoes collected will go to such impoverished places as Haiti, Honduras, and Togo (the western neighbor of Ghana) and distributed to different locals to sell on their own, to make a living and support their families.

Here's the perfect reason to start that Spring cleaning you've been avoiding!  Please drop off any and all gently used shoes at Trinity UMC, our gracious partner in this endeavor - 1820 Broadway, Denver, CO 80202.  Your help is desperately needed - and greatly appreciated!

For questions or more information, please contact Pastor Jaime Nieves at (720) 210-4583 or [email protected].
