RN or Physician Needed for 1 or 2 weeks at Buckhorn Camp!

Come spend an incredible week (or two) at Buckhorn United Methodist Camp. We're seeking a Registered Nurse or Physician to oversee the health of the camp, ensure a healthy camp community, and oversee any medications that might need to be administered. We like to think of it as a paid vacation in the mountains filled with fun, faith, and fellowship (and a little work along the way). We have two available weeks that we need help: Elementary Camp (July 20th - 26th) and Middle & High School Camp (July 27th-August 2nd). Position(s) is paid. If you're interested and available, please contact us at Buckhorn.  [email protected]; (970) 484-2508.

Invitation to Help Work Crew from Desert Southwest Conference at Buckhorn Camp

Hello Rocky Mountain Conference! We have a work team heading to CO to work from May 31 to June 20 and we are in need of help. We will be working at Buckhorn Camp, cleaning up and cutting trees. It seems that most people have already made plans for those dates and so far there are only 5 of us who will be there the entire time, with 1 scheduled for the last week. I am writing to ask if any local people would like to help out, perhaps on the weekends. We will be cutting down trees that were burnt in the High Park Fire. We bring trained sawyers.  Perhaps there are some sawyers who would like to help or people who would be able to work as spotters?  I am working on the schedule so people are more than welcome to contact me for information or to be included in the workforce.  [email protected]  (480) 352-4273  Desert Southwest Team

Volunteers Wanted - Disaster Support

Before the next disaster hits, the COVOAD is working with the state of Colorado Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in developing an Incident Support Team to help coordinate the activities of the various groups who respond.  We have been asked to provide a volunteer who can assist with general administrative support. For more information, download the PDF or please contact Don Falvey, who represents our conference on the COVOAD. You may call him at (435) 896-3069 or send an email to [email protected]

Camp Hope - Seeking Male Volunteers and Medical Staff

It's been hosted at Buckhorn since 1979 and has a long tradition of serving Christ-centered outdoor educational experiences for all. Those interested can download an application under the Camp Hope section of our website: www.buckhorncamp.org

Buckhorn is also seeking to hire some Food Service and Hospitality staff for the summer. We have opportunities for both living and working on-site or if to drive in for anyone living locally. Food service and hospitality positions are paid positions.  If interested please download an application from our website: www.buckhorncamp.org

Stratton UMC Wants Your Shoes!

In hopes of raising funds to pay for a new air conditioner/heater in our Fellowship Hall and to offer a compassionate "hand up" to our brothers and sisters in third world countries, Stratton UMC in Stratton, Colorado, is collecting gently used shoes - tennis shoes, high heels, slippers, flip-flops, work shoes, sandals, cowboy boots, work boots - all kinds - for kids, women, and men!  After being sent to a "clean-up" company for refurbishing, the shoes collected will go to such impoverished places as Haiti, Honduras, and Togo (the western neighbor of Ghana) and distributed to different locals to sell on their own, to make a living and support their families.

Here's the perfect reason to start that Spring cleaning you've been avoiding!  Please drop off any and all gently used shoes at Trinity UMC, our gracious partner in this endeavor - 1820 Broadway, Denver, CO 80202.  Your help is desperately needed - and greatly appreciated!

For questions or more information, please contact Pastor Jaime Nieves at (720) 210-4583 or [email protected].
